Breathing Rocks

Fabric silk screen pattern design over chiffon and silk, constructed into a dramatic costume coat. Flocking and glitter aid in the airy and weightless feel of this garment while the imagery, quite literally, grounds the piece.

Breathing Rocks is a silkscreen printed costume garment constructed in the fall of 2016. Printed large scale rocks move over the surface interacting and interrupting the grid structure. Flocking and fine glitter give the jacket a fuzzy and luminous texture.

Experimentation with smaller scale print for sleeves, half tone rocks were created with drawing and painting experiments then taken into the computer for detail rendering.
